Crikey, there's no denying it.
Watching Doctor Norman Finklestein deal with questions at public rallies and speaking engagements is an experience, the man is knowledgeable, articulate, passionate, unbiased and yet precise about the way he both dissects criticism from genuine questions and ruthless without compromise in giving direct truthful answers.
That does upset some people, and it certainly make others appear to be foolish in trying to take him on in a debate where they are armed with vitriolic propaganda against his recounting of pure fact and eye witnessed information.
I'd be very interested to see just what the Doctor would make of our own Hagnal Ban (Black) who made claim in the public electronic media to being a Holocaust survivor by the rationale that her grandfather was SO therefore she is.
In the past Dr. Finklestein has been critical of people who have used the Holocaust as a way to silence criticism, who have used the term anti-Semitic to describe those who oppose their views on the basis that they are Jews and that those who may ask questions and look for the truth are in league with or just are "Nazi's"
I can understand totally why he has those opinions and looking at the above video shows that he has every reason to support the shutting down of questioning Jews on any particular matter, since he has at least a generational head start in the role of being offspring of survivors than our local claimant.
Recently crikey blog has reason to also question the good councillor on these claims and you cam see the blog here and see that her threats do not just come to the little people in Logan who dare criticise her. Crikey Blog
After various threats by Anonymous (not) on other blogs when comments got a bit close to the truth and when crikey was mentioned, and even when others were blamed outright for comments that even I had made there, I thought it was time to introduce you all to Dr. Norman Finklestein, of course you can look up youtube for yourselves to see what he's about and how badly he is thought of by Israel and it's government for daring to ask why after all these years they have not followed the UN and why they are still killing Palestinians.

I really take exception to people taking advantage of other's misery to advance themselves.
My grandmother suffered under the Nazi regime and no one in our family, apart from Gran could claim to be survivors. She bore the marks, a numerical tattoo on the inside of her left wrist. Yet all the photos we have of her she is either wearing long sleeves or bracelets to hide the tattoo.
I strongly feel that calling oneself a 'survivor' in this generation is an insult those who actually endured and survived those very dark days in human history.
I just watched some other Finklestein video's on youtube, he is a robot isn't he, they can call him whatever they like and he doesn't get emotional, he just keeps on spitting out the facts. Thanks for this, I reckon he'd have a field day with some idiots around here.
You're treading on very thin ice with this rubbish, the human rights commission would tear you apart and ruin you financially for posting this, it's anti-semitic propaganda and hate crime stuff and it's a deliberate attack. Consider yourself warned.

I believe that if you continue to threaten people you yourself may face a class action.
I love Finklestein, it's so refreshing to look at the other side with objectivity and see that what Israel is perpetrating is exactly the same thing they have used since the great wars to claim immunity from any wrongdoing since and now it seems as a whepon against anyone who asks the tough questions of them.
When you have people using their place of origin or their purported race, (in my opinion Jews are not of a particular race, they appear to be just mainly anglo like many other religeous groups) or religeon to jackboot others right to free speech it is contemptable and should be exposed.
I plan on writing to Professor Finklestein, outlining the whole dirty business including press release clippings and captures (particularly of the threats we see on Blogs) to see just what he makes of this, because I'm personally horrified and deeply upset by it all.

We believe that the threats are actually coming from someone who isn't even of the Jewish faith, which makes it even sadder because it taints those who did suffer and are rebuilding their lives.
Is there any such thing as being a dual religeous holder (i.e. dual citizen) because it has been in the press that the outspoken one is a presbyterian, can one be a jew and a presbyterian?
The one in question is married to a Catholic and there was an article in the JT stating that the person wanted to convert to Catholicism as many of their friends were of that faith.
Perhaps they should look at joining the Uniting Church.
My understanding is that Judaism is a religion but if someone is born in Israel they are an Israelite.
Perhaps Roman Catholics should actually be born in Rome?
